FAQ

  • Do I really need to invest?

Yes. You cannot save your way to financial freedom. If you want to stop working eventually- investing is a MUST!

  • What if the stock market tanks?

You only lock your losses if you sell so DON’T PANIC SELL! That’s how they get you! Just focus on your long term strategy and expect ups/downs because they’re a part of the game. History has shown us that EVERY downturn/crash eventually corrects itself with enough time! Stay strong & know that the volatility is the fee you pay for getting to grow wealth in the stock market.

  • How much should I invest?

Bringing it back to my 50/30/20 Rule- you’ll want to put 20% of your take home pay towards Future You. Subtract your monthly 401k, Roth & HSA contributions from that amount and what you have leftover is what you can start investing! Even if it’s only $20, investing is a habit and as your income grows, so will your investments! AND REMEMBER: Don’t invest if you have high interest rate debt or haven’t saved an emergency fund.

  • What’s the best way to get started?

Don’t pick individual stocks! BUY LOW COST INDEX FUNDS! If it’s good enough for Warren Buffett, it’s good enough for you.
